Yeah the description of what they did to me is pretty rough. (Disclaimer: Gorey details follow, read at your own risk). Basically they cut of the top of my femur and pounded a tent-stake-like spike into it. The spike has a ball on the end that fits into the socket they inserted into my pelvis. Both are 100% steel which will never wear out. Also, they don't use any cement. The bone actually grows into the implant. It truly becomes part of me. I was bruised from my belt line all the way to below the knee. My entire upper leg was purple - a nice psychedelic shade actually. My wife took pictures to remember it, although I can't ever see a time I would want to...

Welch and Rawlings play a folk/country type of music. They are very good. This recording is from a show I saw back in 1999. They did a set, then Rowan did a solo set, and then they all played a set together. Pretty good stuff. Very trippy in that folksy, americana kind of way. The reocrding is pretty good - we were on the first row right in front of the PA and the venue had a really sweet sound.
Send me your mailing address and I'll drop you a copy in the mail (actually the wife will make the trip to the Post office). It's not like I have a lot to do right now.
